Paediatric Aquatic Ankle Weights (sold in pairs)

Consists of weighted cuffs made from comfortable, well tolerated soft material. Adjustable velcro closure on each cuff allows for easy attachment to ankles.

The sizes of these paediatric aquatic ankle weights are ideal when considering the lack of musculature and bony growth experienced in children who do not weight bear.

Applications:

Core strength building where these ankle weights are used in aquatic sit to stand exercises for children undergoing multiple surgeries for severe scoliosis.

While floating in our Square Float with Seat (SKU 9396), ankle weights  provide gentle traction and assist in maintaining a vertical position.

For children with delayed motor function milestones, these weights assist in weight bearing aquatic exercise to keep feet grounded on the pool floor.  Also great for water walking and side-stepping exercises.

For young swimmers with cardiac involvement leading to poor peripheral return of extremities, the aquatic ankle weights  provide a combination of gentle traction with hydrostatic pressure which influences blood circulation and reduces swelling.

For children with dystonic movements, the combination of our Hi-Support Float with Seat (SKU 9504) and aquatic ankle weights, provide support for the head, neck, shoulders, arms, pelvis and legs and an opportunity for more controlled movement.

Suitable for ankles with minimum circumference of 11cm and upwards.
